Cyclist Petros Stylianou will travel a distance of 850 km from Nicosia to Paphos to raise funds for the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society.
Petros, a former cancer patient himself, started his journey on Monday, visiting communities in Paphos.
His effort is part of Christodoula’s March, due to take place in April 14.
He told Phileleftheros that he started cycling from the Archbishopric in Paphos, he will then travel to Limassol and will finish his journey in Nicosia on April 14.
“With my journey I continue to fulfill the commitment I took on to myself and my co-citizens. After my cancer surgery, I saw Holy Mary holding my hand at the hospital saying to me that I will get better. We have to make cancer patients believe that they can get better,” he said.
The students’ union of TEPAK and the Cyprus Sports Organisation have donated €150 and €500, respectively, to Petros’ cause.
He also received donations from the mayor of Peyia and the community leaders of Tala, Emba and Cholaraka.
