The action takes place in real time, June 21, 1961 in Paris. Cléo, a young and beautiful singer rather frivolous, fears to be suffering from cancer. It is 5 pm and she must retrieve the results of her medical examinations in 2 hours. To fool her fear, she seeks support in her surroundings. She will come up against unbelief and even indifference and measure the emptiness of her existence. She will finally find solace with a stranger after his anguished wandering in Paris.
