The number of job vacancies in the 1st quarter of 2020 reached 7,177. The number of job vacancies increased by 415 (6,1%) compared to the same quarter of the previous year where the number was 6,762, according to figures released on Monday by the Cyprus Statistical Service.
Compared to the 4th quarter of 2019, the number of job vacancies increased by 2,531 (54,5%). The job vacancy rate in the 1st quarter of 2020 was 2.0%, while the job vacancy rate in the previous quarter and the1st quarter of 2019 was 1.3% and 2.0% respectively.
According to the figures, the largest job vacancy rates in the 1st quarter of 2020 were observed in the Sectorsof Real Estate Activities (5.8%), Accommodation and Food Services (4.0%) and Construction (3.4%).
